Thus was the idea home bar designs from Ainul Atho' , MA: My boyfriend and I use the bars you plan as a guide. We have our own dimension to deal with a tool rather than a Bible. We use a 2x3 for the frame with drywall screws recommended.

We plan dimensions of the framework to be able to match the kegerator, sink, small refrigerator and a lot of desk space. We side bar with 3 / 4 "birch and used molds from Home Depot that we are mitered and assembled with a small tack nails and glue. The counter top is built with 3 / 4" MDFB and formica on it. above was constructed by primarily the same way as bar plans unless we used oak hardwood floors to the top of the plywood.

We chose hardwood floors because we plan to put our own hard wood floor in our living room, so this is a good chance to get some experience (and will not be the end of the world if we mess it up). I should have through the spill, so we built that just like your plan and it really adds a touch of class to the bar and gives a realistic view bar.

We do not use a router for rounding every corner. We both used dowels and sanded them to intervene (as in a birch veneer on the side) or we use prints like the bar through the spill. We want to use the molds Chicago Rail to arm rests instead of brass tubing, but also too expensive, so we mixed the two pieces of molding to make the outside crept across the top.

We bought a lot of brackets used brass foot rail and zinc coated steel pipeline to the foot rail. channel only cost us about $ 13.00 overall, compared with about $ 200 or $ 300 for the brass and I think it looks neat.

We salute the top with seven layers of polyurethane and three layers on the side. We use this new Minwax polyurethane from Home Depot that dries quickly and does not require sanding for the next layer is applied within 12 hours. It is hard to say just how many floors dynamic new split level homes like this really have, but pictures do a much better job than plans at showing the many layers of such designs. Technically

the facade is three-stories tall, but at every turn the building seems to fracture in two – over and over again.

A Paul Rudolph-designed residence in Westchester County, NY is listed for $5.995 million.

During his celebrated career, Paul Rudolph designed such landmark structures as the Yale Art and Architecture Building (1963), the Milam Residence (completed in 1961), and the unfinished Government Service Center of Boston (1966-1971.) Shortly after designing the Yale structure, he served as Dean of the Yale Architecture School for 6 years before returning to private practice. When his signature Brutalist style fell out of favor, Rudolph, who began his career in Florida as a residential architect, turned to designing the glass-skinned corporate towers that had become popular in the 1970’s.

This home was designed by the architect in the late 1980’s and has never been on the market before. Sited on 4 acres in Westchester County – less than 45 minutes by train from Grand Central – the 6 bed, 6.5 bath home has 7370 square feet of living space.

The sprawling interior features floor-to-ceiling windows, skylights, and covered breezeways to open the house up to natural light and views of the leafy grounds. Other interior amenities include cathedral ceilings, a 3,000 bottle wine cellar, and a powder room.

The rear elevation of the home reveals the unique cantilevered rooms that project from the upper level of the house, as in the bathroom shown below. The extensive grounds provide plenty of room to roam, a pool, and a lighted tennis court.

Rudolph, who was born in 1918 and trained at the Harvard Graduate School of design under Bauhaus founder Walter Gropious, died in 1997.

First of all let me say that I adore Meg Ryan and all of her movies. She has a classic, carefree, and charming demeanor with a warm personality that appeals to everyone. I came across her peaceful Martha's Vineyard, Massachusetts, home, which she renovated and decorated with Marsha Russell and I love everything about it. I especially like the industrial lighting, neutral colors throughout the house, the vintage touches, and the laid-back casual feel.

The pendant lights are from Historical Materialism and are installed above a rustic table in the kitchen; the large windows allow a lot of natural light in the kitchen. I love the ceiling and the vintage stool.

The dining area’s pendant lights are by O’Lampia Studio, the armchairs are slip-covered, and the metal sign is vintage. The factory style windows allow the space to feel more open to the rest of the house. The architecture of the room is stunning.

The great room in the house features this sweet sitting area. Meg and her designer have given the room a neutral base with a jute rug and neutral-colored upholstery. The sofas are upholstered in linen – I love the combo of one white and one gray sofa, paired with gray curtains. The accessories have an industrial vibe with metal tables and lighting.

The master bedroom features a towering ceiling
with beautiful windows and a large sconce. Look at those sliding barn doors, I wouldn't mind having
those in my next house!

The February 2009 domino spread of Mary McDonald's guest house made the California-based design an instant celebrity in the design world and pictures from the spreads made the rounds on the design blogs more times than I can count. And yet, despite her ever-growing popularity, McDonald's website remained...well, somewhat amateur with its scanned clippings of press and minimal online portfolio.

Fortunately though, McDonald has finally gotten with the times and gotten herself a new website -- and it's lovely. Lovelier still is her online portfolio, which is complete with plenty of new pictures of her modern, innovative take on Hollywood Glam.

This room feels incredibly soft and subtle for McDonald -- certainly, this is a far more "undecorated" look than we're used to seeing from her. I'm particularly fond of those gorgeous striped drapes and the warm gray on the walls.

In some ways this bedroom is not my usual cup of tea (white, pink and chocolate brown are a bit too muted/Restoration Hardware for my tastes, canopied beds are too fussy, etc.) and yet I love this. I suppose it just goes to show you that just about anything can be made innovative and beautiful. And certainly that bed is nothing you'd see at the RH's or PB's of the world. This isn't the first time McDonald has used a pink ceiling set off against white moldings and bold wall color, but I love it all the same. [By the way, don't the white mirrors on either side of the bed look identical in style to the brown mirror hanging next to the fireplace in the sitting room above?]

I love how subversive this room is. After all, Decorating a sun room in predominately black may seem a bit like an oxymoron (after all, isn't a sun room supposed to be light and bright), but McDonald pulls it off with unexpectedly sophisticated results -- all while using furniture (like the garden stool) and fabrics traditionally used in a garden.

Again, McDonald manages to make bold color choices look sophisticated by tight editing. I absolutely love the choice of the pale slate blue against the bolder orange.

Here, the chartreuse monogrammed Leontine linens are such an unexpected -- and brilliant -- choice in a red and white room and keeps the color palette from reading as candy striper. The large scale of the monogram is a great modern (and on trend!) update on a traditional motif.

This dining room is what I've come to associate Mary McDonald with most: namely, bold wall colors and modern, graphic takes on traditional furniture and upholstery. The antique buffet keeps the room eclectic and from feeling too new.

This last room might be my favorite. I love the modern black and white patterns paired with the vintage black Chinoiserie figurines and those stunning chairs upholstered in red patent leather (brilliant!). It's the perfect balance between traditional Chinoiserie and modern glam -- one of my all time favorite combinations.

This is Modern Home Design called Sosnowski designed by Chen & Suchart Studio in Tempe, Arizona. Located on the outskirts of Tempe’s urban center, the home exudes an industrial aesthetic. A pronounced steel frame constructed from I-beams is the skeleton for the upper volume, which sits upon a concrete block base. The façade of the upper level is composed of thoughtfully placed windows and naturally weathered corrugated steel panels.Modern Home Design. Constructed of a modular steel frame, the house consists of two pavilions connected by a glass hallway. the frame is infilled with prefab thermasteel panels to minimize construction on site waste. the structural frame is exposed, showing the construction process and articulating the house’s facades. the repetitive modular method as well as the prefabrication allows for greater efficiency during construction.

Not scared to use strong color, Winters often love reds but avoid soft pinks. First Things First - Choosing a Color Scheme

Red packs a wallop, physiologically speaking, increasing blood pressure, heartbeat and energy in most people. It instills feelings of intimacy and passion. Orange, like red, tends to warm a room, but in a more friendly and welcoming way. As a result, paints in various shades and tints of orange work well in living rooms and family rooms.

Green is another relaxing color that is much more versatile than blue. Light greens are ideal for bedrooms and living rooms; midtones are good for kitchens and dining rooms (many foods are green). Also, because green is calming, it is often used in hospitals, workplaces and schools.

Violet is a tricky color, psychologically speaking. Many adults dislike purples, but are fond of the rose family, which can work in many rooms, including dining rooms, bedrooms and libraries. Young children, on the other hand, respond favorably to violet, so this color can be used successfully in children's bedrooms and play areas.

These general guidelines are a good starting point in your search for a paint color. But remember that color choice is a very personal matter. You're the one who has to live with your new paint color, so choose a hue that suits you, your family and your lifestyle.

This home designed by The Jeffers Group is a lovely example of the excesses of the Hollywood style. The zebra buffet is a surprising element amongst other more modern pieces, but is tied in with zebra print cushions on the acrylic barstools. The starburst mirror is a big style booster as is the bubble light fixture above the dining table. The horned candelabras also add an imaginative touch.

The twinkling crystal chandelier, more crystal chandeliers here, takes center stage in this gray and pink living room. The walls, windows and floor are covered in gray which creates the illusion of matte silver and sets the fabulous light fixture off nicely.

The rolled back chair and curvy vanity is also indicative of the soft, sensual lines used in Hollywood's Golden Era. The detailing on both the vanity and the chair are another lovely aspect of the style as well as the acrylic table lamps, more table lamps here, set on both ends of the vanity.

This glitzy bedroom is filled with rich velvets, sultry silks and smooth metallics. The velvet headboard and silk duvet soften the mirrored canopy bed as do the velvet pet chaise and sofa. Thick gray carpeting offers extra softness and comfort underfoot.

The grass green and pearl white color palette is cool and crisp. She keeps the same color scheme throughout the space. One of my interior design professors once told me small spaces - under 1700 square feet - should keep with one color scheme so that the style flows well throughout. Workman's WeHo Condo design is a great example of this color theory. And this living room would have fit in nicely in a previous Simplified Bee post on "Green Living Rooms."

The condo's walls and furniture are white and Workman brilliantly delivers bright green prints throughout the upholstery. You will also notice that she keeps the warm hardwood floors bare - I could only find one small white rug in the bedroom.

The simple, yet elegant dining room showcases a whimsical chandelier. The one-of-a-kind individually handcrafted chandelier is made from an actual citrus tree and glass beads and is one of Workman's creations. It's stunning.

Workman gutted the client's existing kitchen and created a clean, modern space. She selected gorgeous detailed hardware to the white painted cabinets. The slate floor adds an earthy feeling to the otherwise airy space. Very nice result!

The focal point in the bedroom is the beautiful giant leaf motif wallpapered wall that beautifully pulls the color palette together. My favorite element in this room however, is the butterfly hardware used on the closet doors. It adds a wonderful, unexpected bit of whimsy.

In November 2008, Workman opened The Red House Interiors to showcase her personal style. It presents a mixed collection of both high-end modern and vintage pieces, as well as original designs by Workman. It looks lovely and I hope to drop by next time I visit Los Angeles.
